Kevin graduated from California State University, Fresno with a BS in Enology and a minor in chemistry. Like his father, Kevin began brewing beer while in college, his fermentation background not only supported his focus on winemaking, but also in brewing. Kevin’s love for brewing turned into a dream of opening a brewery in his hometown, Grass Valley California. With the help of his father, David, Kevin's dream came to fruition with the opening of 1849 Brewing Co.

David has been Homebrewing since 1980 and has dreamed of opening a brewery since the early 1990s. His dream began to come to fruition when Kevin took an interest in homebrewing while at college. Together they planned 1849 Brewing Company
