1849 Brewing Co. is a brewery in Grass Valley, CA bringing great tasting
modern and traditional style beers, as well as, delicious American pub style food to the Grass Valley, Nevada City, Auburn, and greater Sacramento areas.
David graduated from UC Davis where he developed the skill and love for making and enjoying home craft beer. After retiring from the real estate game, he decided to move his family to Grass Valley, planted a vineyard and started a winery. During the process of making the first few batches of wine, Kevin, one of David’s 3 sons, planted the idea of opening a brewery. David’s dream of making a living creating craft beer became more of a tangible goal, and the father/son team decided to start the journey together. While David is still dedicated to making great tasting wine, he is focusing his efforts on making sure the brewery is a total success.
